A pretty rough October shook the Nifty down 5% into a negative year for 2018. This has been the worst October since 2009:

Meanwhile we have the Next 50 doing better at only -2.6% but that was after a hearbreaking -12% in September.

We plot to the Nifty on an SIP basis too – how much would you have made had you invested an equal amount every month? The answer is now, less than 10%.

With dividends though, returns will probably be about 10.5% for a 10 year SIP.

Already, November’s looking better. But there’s a lot of month yet to go.
