Diversification in a single portfolio

All the diversification you need across asset classes, tailored to your goals, risk preferences, and financial circumstances are consolidated into a single portfolio.

Tax Check for Your Global Wealth

US Tax Residency

US persons are taxed by the US on their worldwide income. US citizens and green card holders are US persons irrespective of where they live, as is anyone living in the US on a work or study visa.

PFIC Treatment of Indian Funds

Under US tax rules, every Indian mutual fund, ETF, AIF, REIT, and InvIT is a Passive Foreign Investment Company (PFIC). This triggers annual reporting for each fund held and punitive tax: either tax every year on unrealised gains, or top-rate tax plus an interest charge at sale.

PFIC Treatment of Indian Stocks

Most Indian operating companies are not PFICs. However, certain listed holding companies, AMCs, insurers, brokers, exchanges, and investment-type NBFCs can meet the PFIC tests. Once a stock is a PFIC during your holding period, it generally stays a PFIC for you, so holdings need ongoing screening.
